What Happens When - Exhaust Tube Rubs Through?

Topic:                           What happens when your exhaust tube is too close to the cylinder heads on a 60hp motor?

The bolt heads tend to "eat through" the soft aluminum exhaust tube.

Here's a pic:

How do you fix it? Durarods of course. 

Step by step . . .

Clean all surfaces thoroughly like this:


Then you heat the fawk out of the tube until the durarod melts into the holes (just like solder flowing when soldering copper pipes).



Now the fun begins. Why? Well . . . durarods are harder than aluminum. So, it'll take a while to grind them down smooth. Go slow, be careful and take note that aluminum gets hot quickly.
